I'm changing journals.

The thing is, I've never been friends-only - In the beginning, I didn't see the point, and then I just couldn't be bothered to change all the entries.
Only I'm starting to realise that it's really quite necessary.
I've been [info]mindcorrupter for three and a half years, I'm allowed a change, right?

So from now on, I'll be posting in [info]soup0dragon (best I could get, I'm afraid).

I'll add again everyone on my f-list so just do what you want, okay?

See you on the other side.

I am Amused
by the way my teacher daily takes great pleasure in gently humiliating the one boy in biology class

I am Angry
that instead of refurbishing the pool over the winter, the council has decided to close down the entire sports centre for a year, rendering my 7 week old gym membership useless

I am Busy
but you wouldn't notice from the amount of work I'm not doing

I am Dissapointed
That I didn't manage to get tickets to a lecture by James Watson

I am Giggly
over just how cute Russell Howard is

I am Gloomy
because I won't be seeing IAMX next week

I am Jubilant
that I got to see Hugh Dennis doing his velociraptor impression again

I am Nervous
because I'm sure my university application won't be finished by October 14th

I am Sleepy
because I stayed up half the night trying to write said application

I am Surprised
that I've managed to write this much crap without going "oh fuck it" and quitting the application

None, or other: GYARGH!

Hokay, so last week's midnight saxophonist was pretty good, but yesterday's bagpipe busker on Westminster bridge beats them all.

Ugh, It's still tuesday? I dreamed tuesday already, can't we leave it at that?

Okay, so I may only have had five lessons but so far year 13 kicks all kind of ass.

This morning, my new biology teacher spent the first half of the lesson explaining not what we were learning but how we were going to be learning it.
I think I'm in love.
My other new biology teacher decided it would just be easier to give up on the school computer network altogether and set us up a google group instead.
I'm also getting the good chemistry teachers.
So, please forgive me if I'm feeling particularly optimistic today.

Today is a special day because it's the first time my camera, its cable and an internet connection have been united in quite some time, so there's something of a backlog here.

On monday myself, [info]kewen and [info]_pawn happened to be in St James's Park.
In a tree.
And photo taking happened.
Erin told me to upload all of them, but I'm not because, well, some of them were.. wierd...
je suis une abre )

Last lesson was cancelled today because the teacher was ill again.
I'm beginning to think he suffers from some form of backwards lycanthropy.

1st of september aka the day we got kewen back from the jungle: )

I'm writing this whilst watching my favourite shit tv show (it's so rubbish they had to move it to 11 o'clock). It's so predictable. The blonde lady will have snogged her sexy male nanny by the end of the show.

One of my favourite things is walking through the city at night. )

Yep, I was right about the blonde one.

So, what has actually happened? I'm not talking about my home life right now. Nobody else needs to be depressed right now.
Sunday I cycled down the hill to church.
And cycled all the way back up again after. Oh the pain.
My new dalek ring binder is making me way happier than it should be.
Flight Of The Conchords comes to BBC Four soon.
I've got hooked on Silent Witness again yay dead people
I had Hoops for dinner : D

ALL )

You don't mind this is so long, do you? I've been really short recently, although, I haven't really said anything at all.

On the way home from Vienna's this evening I bought a tub of ice cream from the pizza place and stood eating it at the bus stop, feeling like king of the world.

I Survived Work Experience.

So, what've I learned?
-Junior doctors will do anything to get out of paperwork
-Surgeons like crocs
-If you drink enough of it, machine-tea will taste passable in the end
-Bodies can be so gross
-Creepy guys will still try to chat you up while you're examining the smelly pus-producing abscesses on their arms.
-When you get knifed in the gut, it'll be your mamma and not your homies bringing you to clinic appointments
-Men moan more (not a new thing...)
-Nobody ever knows where the syringes are kept
-Hospitals will do anything to get around government targets
-Mmm, tea

Other, less related things:
-I is still shy lol
-I'm crap at ironing. The small one across two fingers that you can't really see cause the scab came off is from doing sheets last week, and the massive won't-go-away one is from doing my shirt on wednesday. They should go nicely with the oven, saucepan and straightener burn scars all on that arm. My right arm is relatively intact.
-I think something big happened last night, because today there were policemen with massive guns all over the hospital, but the bbc has nothing.

My mother decided when I got home that she wanted to go see The Merchant of Venice. By the time we got to the globe only the house seats were left, which cost a fortune, but were probably worth it because the play was wonderful, although long and I lost focus at times. I expected to see [info]shinabu and [info]paddehat there but I couldn't find them amongst the crowd.

Only a week and a half of holiday left. Freedom, eh? No plans.
I've got to start buying new-year-stationery.

Anyway. Tired. Sleep.

Results actually turned out to be worse than I'd been fearing but I'm strangely not bothered by that.
Might just be that I'm sending at three of the modules back to be remarked (an E for my French oral is just ridiculous, really).
And I went back to the hospital after and had a whole load of surgeons telling me "eh, you can retake.."
(Speaking of that, today's gunshot wound patient totally beats yesterday's stabbed one. Lots of people have been telling me that they trained in Southampton and London is really scary. Violent crime hoorays.)

Anyway, better things!

Just got back from seeing Elling.

It was fantastic, funny and wonderful. I know lots of you are seeing it soon so all I'll say is

Simm in cupboard!
and
YAY!!

And even my brother, the world's most monumental fuckup, has A levels now : )

Astrid, your parcel has arrived. Thank you, it's wonderful!

Yesterday and the day before we sat in Sinéad's living room and watched Fruits Basket anime all day, so today we thought going out might be a good idea, and went to Underage Festival.

It was nice, although slightly terrifying being surrounded by thousands of teenage indie kids. My new hair enables me to blend in a little though.
Sinead turned up in the least indie clothes she had.

But the weather was warm and the music pretty good. My younger cousin even turned up to watch my brother play.
Holly and I were confused by the people in the tent that we didn't recognise who were singing all the words to all the songs.
They do have other fans!

We didn't see many people, really. Sat and read Wuthering Heights while listening to Cajun Dance Party, got in the middle of the indie-pit to see the Mystery Jets (one of the guys from the band has perfect Hatsuharu hair. okay, i know i've been watching too much furuba lately, but..).
After, we headed to the other stage to get there in a good place for Patrick Wolf's set.
So good.
I gave holly my camera as she was in front. She wouldn't stop taking pictures of the guy. Mind you, he's very sparkly.

I've managed to sort out my work experience - properly! I have a set time to be there and a dress code and all sorts. So, if all goes to plan then I'm spending the next two weeks following a consultant endocrinologist at King's College Hospital.
It's all a bit scary and real, though. Is this my future here?

Everyone's out and the neighbours are all away, so i can sing Patrick Wolf at the top of my voice and only the local cats will howl.

Me and Sinead spent last night watching Louis Theroux and then fell asleep in the middle of Labyrinth. Best friday night EVAR.
Today we packed a picnic and went to Spitalfields City Farm because...
Well, there is no reason. But we have nothing better to do.
We need Erin back. Only a whole month till she's home.

Anyway, have extra-special ridiculousness planned for tomorrow, and have to go and find things.

I just sent a letter to University College Hospital volunteer services department which read, basically,
Will you let me in your hospital pretty pretty PLEASE???
I did have work experience sorted out, but it appears to have unsorted itself, so now I'm left with this. Every time I stop to think about my university application it just wedges itself further down the drain.
Ohwellnevermind.

Life is... unfascinating.
I've read four- no, five books since wednesday.
Posted three things, and eaten tons of Skittles.
Watched Being John Malkovich. Are real people like that? because then I don't think I like real people. Liked the film, though.

I've been to the gym a couple of times now and spend my time thinking of witty and insightful comments on life, the universe and everything which nobody apart from me would be able to decifer.
That is, when I'm not worrying about whether anybody has noticed how ridiculous I look when I run, or wondering why I seem to be the sweatiest person in the room, or trying to convince my arms not to fall off completely. Which is a lot of the time.

Mary, Tasha and Simone came to the free festival that was going on in my local park, and me and Mary took the others to see the Dinosaurs, which probably excited us far more than it did Simone and Natasha.

We went - me and my mother - to the Globe to see a new play. It was alright, a bit slow.
I managed to do that thing where you're daydreaming and without realising it you're staring right in the face of someone who's both incredibly famous and randomly waiting in a queue next to you at the time.
So, died a bit then.

I've booked myself to go and see The Simpsons Movie with my least favourite friend. It should be ghastly.

I think I'll cook tagliatelle.
